I played tennis in high school and knew that I wanted to continue playing some type of sport in college. I started playing ultimate at Cornell because Kim reached out to me (a bunch of times) to come out to a practice. I’ve played since my freshman year of college, making it 2.5 years now. I was really excited to join the Roses my sophomore year because I wanted to grow as much as I could as an ultimate player. I decided to come to Cornell because of the program I applied to, Policy Analysis and Management, which is unique to the School of Human Ecology. Everywhere else I applied I wasn’t sure what I wanted to major in, but I was set on PAM because it combines my favorite subjects of government, economics, and statistics in a relevant, applied fashion. My favorite part of being on the Roses is seeing how dedicated everyone is to improving and committing to the team. I joined the Rose because I knew it was the best way to improve my game and I love that my fellow teammates take it so seriously. I also love all the laughter and bonding that goes on during and outside of tournaments because it really makes the team a close-knit group of friends. The best thing about Cornell is clearly the people! I love how everyone here is so driven and passionate about what they’re doing. It seems as though everyone is involved on campus outside of academics in way one or another. I think it’s amazing that there are so many diverse interests represented, so that there is something here for everyone!
